Urban Abandoned District buildings in the middle of the Old Town. This time outdoor and indoors. The scene contains highly detailed objects like modular elevations, modular garage assets, tile scanned textures, car, pipes, and many more. Most assets were built based on photogrammetry technique and properly optimized and hand-tweaked to work in real-time scenes on UE4. Two lighting setup day and night. With our FPP pawn, You can at runtime change lighting scenario, turn flashlight, or change the view TPP/FTP/TopDown to test Your favorite game type. Additionally, we add options to change graphics settings in runtime mode by pressing 5/6/7 (Low/High/Ultra).

Technical Details
Be aware that Unreal 5 now has Lumen enabled by default. We still support a more game-ready pipeline, and you should disable this feature in your project settings to get results like our screenshots for 5.0. We added support for Lumen and Nanite with version 5.1+. Could look a little different than the original. You can check DEMO to see the differences.

The demo scene is very cool, i like the buildings that are pre-build too, quite usefull for prototyping fast :)
I’m not that much in game industry (i’m more a CGI-artist), so I prefer a update to a RTX version or a new building :)

can’t render properly
Everything comes out black, get the can’t ‘play in editor’ thing. Reading over all the endless responses here, why not just fix this so it works as it should. People should not have to go through this. Tried going through whats in the documentation, didn’t change anything.
Or, why not just make a quick short video going step by step through the process to correct this?

Explanation should be in the documentation in section: Rendering Problem (disable black startup fade / menu).
If you want to do it just for fixed shots, you can as always make some of the sublevels “always loaded”. If any problems let us know.

cinematic dark
Hi, the asset is great. But I need it for a cinematic. When I launch the
Movie Render Queue (using UADistrict_01_P level) , it comes out all dark. I’ve deleted everything that
could be causing it, tried with auto exposure… I think you advise
something further down, but I’m not sure I understand what you mean.

Have you tried to delete all connected with MENU? Probably change HUD default mode in world settings tab should be enough. You should find instructions in the documentation :)

NIGHT MODE
HI! I was wondering if you could assist me. I am trying to use the night mode with the scene but I am totally uncapable of doing it. The night sublevel only has the light elements (no assets), and when I try to paste it into the environment, doesnt work. How can I switch to the night mode? is there any fast way? thanks

Not sure if I understand correctly. We realized day and night scenario by feature named – lighting scenarios. In sublevels tab you can find all of them. And you can control them by level persistent blueprint. Everything should be in the documentation :) If any problems with that, let us know at support@scansfactory.com or on our discord channel.

Shortcut key conflict
Shortcut key 1 represents daytime, shortcut key 2 represents nighttime. However, these two shortcut keys conflict with the shortcuts used for AirSimGameMode’s infrared and segmentation images. Is there any other way to switch between day and night?

You could easily redefine it in the level persistent blueprint. There you will find all of our keys and you can change it however you want :)

Lights problem
Right after instaling on UE5.1 i have black screen on play.
Tried on 3 computers – all the same.
Maybe its some nvidia drivers problem – i tried installing latest one.
Only deleting lighting and skybox helped (replacing with Unreal samples), but then I dont have oryginal , good looking scene.
Please fix it. So I can add good review, now I dont want to post 3 stars, because asset overall is great, but has some lighting issues on UE 5.1.

Lighting needs to be rebuilt?
When I hit play the screen goes dark and says the follwing error message
Lighting needs to be rebuilt (730 unbuilt objects)
Run console command ‘DumpUnbuiltLightinteractions’ to see what is unbuilt
Reflection Captures Need to be Requilt (91 unbuilt)
Any help? I just added to a project and from Maps/Main/ I clicked UADistrict_01_P to start, is that correct? And then all these errors came up

All our maps have built light (Epic requirements). Maybe you change lighting settings or move some objects.

Can not Play due to errors
I’m using UE 5.1 and I’m trying to play in the editor however I get compiler erros on the UADistrict_01_P. The Event Graph shows all the play nodes with errors saying “Level Sequence Editor Blueprint Library Object Reference is not compatible with Object Reference. Cannot use the editor function “Play” in this runtime Blueprint. Only for use in the Editor Utility Blueprints and Blutilities.
Can anyone help me please?

The answer is that it’s probably Fade widget in the level_P blueprint. Just postpone the whole section and should be fine. Depend on UE version you could also delete Matine actor from scene.

Yes, we tested all our maps with Oculus Quest and it works (with RTX 3060). But you must remember that even though they work, our maps were not made with VR in mind. First of all, there are a lot of mists and other particles that have alphas. I think we’ll be adding some material about VR and our scenes to our social media soon :)

No Matter What I Do, The Scene Renders Completely Black
Hey,
Absolutely love the pack. We’ve modified the main scene quite a bit to generate backgrounds for a film we’re working on. However, I can not for the life of me get anything but black renders out.
So far I’ve tried:
- Forcing the levels to load with default streaming method
- Changing cameras
- Re-importing the project from scratch
- Enabling auto-exposure
- Deleting all Sequences and starting over
- Using Master Sequences
- Using Level Visibility Tracks to force visibility
- Deleting the original level control script in case of conflict
The level shows great in the viewport, and the game is playable if we run it. We’ve tried both renderers with many different settings and pre-run and total frames. Honestly we’re at our wits end.
Could you help us figure this out because I know I’m missing something but I’m going to start ripping hairs out if I haven’t already haha.

Can you tell me your idea of texture making
What’s more, UV is out of quadrant. If you use Substance Painter, it doesn’t support out of quadrant. Your UV uses UDIM, but you don’t get the quadrant of UV in UE, could you tell me how you make texture

Sure, our textures were made with photogrammetry workflow mostly. We use UDIM, but sometimes the order may be other as baking from scans does not require it. Hi, thank you! We use a modified Third Person template in this scene, you can easily change it in Project Settings (Default GameMode). Remember that World Settings can override the Default GameMode.

OUT OF VIDEO MEMORY ERROR
I’m constantly experiencing crashes while trying to open the demo scene. It says out of video memory while allocating a texture. I have 1080ti and it has 12gb of video memory. What could be problem?

Hi, it is probably because you use a film template and it’s the resolution of reflection captures the problem. Do you use a film template? Resolution captures are set to 2048 by default with a film template. You should run the game template or change this resolution to something reasonable like 512 or 1024 in config files.

Need Discount
Your work is amazing… but the Market has changed. Nothing is selling, especially not environments at triple digit prices… and buyers don’t want a stripped down version of something, they want the whole enchilada… pared down environments, or rehashed environments with no new meshes don’t sell either. Its EPICs fault, with Megascans, and all the free content, sellers need to adjust to the new reality. Lower the price by 50%, and sell five times as much, and you win, and buyers will jump in…. or like others, I will be forced to wait for another 70% off sale. Shame, your work is the best on the Marketplace. But prices are too high… I could almost buy an abandoned lot for this price…. ha ha, just kidding. Love your work, can’t wait for next sale.

UE5 tesselation
UE5 no longer supports tessellation, do the assets use tessellation?

I already run this package on UE5. And also I converted this small scene based on this package: https://youtu.be/iG0SREqzzb0
Of course, we use tesselation for landscape. Also problematic with UE5 and Nanite is translucent, dithered and two-sided meshes. But generally, after few changes, you should open this map and convert to UE5 + Nanite + Lumen. If you will need support with that we will help you :)
And last but not least – we use for all assets materials instances. That means that there are only a few base materials to change :) That will help a lot.

I have just looked in the level blueprint and it has press 1 for daylight, 2 for night etc. is there a way to delete this? so i can have one level for daylight (so it cant be switched) and i can duplicate level and have a nightlight level just loading?

Hello, I’m not sure what exactly you want to do but of course, it’s possible to load these light versions levels however you want. For now, it’s by pressing 1 and 2 and by lighting scenario feature(realtime change). But you can also do this by standard level load, unload blueprint blocks with kind of loading between.

Yes of course is there :) The name of the demo map is UADistrict_01_P . You should found it in Maps :)
There is also an Overview map and some Sublevels maps because we give you two light scenarios day and night – you can switch between them in play mode on keyboard 1 and 2.

About wires, we’ve added a simple blueprint to do this. When you copy an electric pole, it should automatically add new wires. You can change their number and how they hang. If you want to change the pole, you have to change them in the blueprint on the map.
On our demo map we used that for background wires and you can check exactly how it works. We recommended for final scene to merge dose wires into static meshes.
We have plans to make PDF witch such instructions to be more clear. Sorry but for now if you will have any problem with that please write at scansfactory@gmail.com

Issues with changing lighting scenario
Hi, I have an issue I never had with any other assets. It seems no matter what I do it always default to the daylight scenario and hide the night one in the levels manager. Even if I delete daylight and try to make nightlight always loaded, it doesn’t work. There must something to modify in the persistent level but I can’t find what. So how can I properly change the lighting scenario to night time right when launching the level? Thanks.

Since then, we have added additional Preliminary Buildings to this pack (on the asset screen, these are the ones on the right). You can easily change them and make variations. If necessary, it would be a good idea to connect them to a static mesh at the end.
But also write to us at info@scansfactory.com and we will record what you need. Maybe we’ll publish it eventually and then it will also be useful to more people. Now we need some rest after crunch time, but on Monday we will try to fight it :)

Hey! sure :)
With default settings on cook i have 60-70 FPS on pretty old GTX 1070. Still depends on game you create there is many UE4 tools to optimize it more. Like culling volume, streaming sublevels, Hlods, lower textures etc. If you will have any problems with that please write to us at info@scansfactory.com.
I added navmesh right now and looks good. But if You want screens how it work with yours settings or in certain areas also write to us :)
