We decided to make a package special dedicated Virtual Production industry. Over 150 meshes based on photogrammetry will give a photorealistic feeling. We use Lumen and Nanite features of UE5. To make the scene really useful for shoots we cooperate with the great VP specialist. The scene, lighting, and shoots were made by Tom Bentkowski. Every enthusiast of new UE5 features should be satisfied.

Be aware it’s not designed for games. Most of the assets could easily work for games but that’s not the subject of this package. For game content, you can find most of the assets in our other package Ancient Temple Ruins.

Amazing pack.
I live in Thailand and I am doing a tropical game named metaisland.gg
This pack is giving us the exact materials we needed to hide an Asian temple in the tropical jungle.
The design is inspired, we do not use Nanite, so we had to setup some auto LOD to optimize even more.
There are also some nice lighting FX and particles that can be used anywhere.
Congrat on this pack, it saved a lot of development for us and perfectly fit with our environment.
Do not overload with poly, just because Nanite exists does not mean that it is the best way to go.
Most game will not use Nanite because, for instance in our game, it sucks 30-40% more GPU for just a bit of extra realism.
Once optimized LOD is still the most efficient. Doing a demo is fine, but doing a game, you need all FPS you can have.

Very high quality pack, also the lighting is amazing and a great learning resource to pick apart. If Tom keeps lighting the packs I will buy every one you release :)
For the update another scene lit by Tom would be golden if possible.

Not For Games?
I am curious to know why you don’t recommend this for games? If I wanted to use for games, what issues would arise? I am new to UE5, sorry for the noob question. I just found this package spectacular and was already thinking about game levels lol.

Hello! Thank you for your kind words! As with the previous similar question our answer:
Some of them have more geometry or bigger textures but the majority will be not changed. Only a few times when we felt a real need to upgrade or add new objects we did it. It’s almost like you said – the selection of scanned assets from the other pack, with a few adjustments to fit the standard of Virtual Production.
I see a possibility to use that scene in-game but you need to extra take care about draw calls, decals, collisions, etc. If You need any extra information please write to support@scansfactory.com.

Discount?
Just today morning wanted to buy the asset for 75 euro because there was a discount and it’s deal for me. Yesterday night it was still on this price, and this discount just gone. When it will be again on that price? 90+ euro for this assets are little bit more then much because for this money you could buy complete game systems on market place not just assets.
Once the price will be going back lemme know because I would like to buy it.

Hello, I’m facing sme issue with channel linking for lights, if i export the mesh and import it as a new file its working but when im working on existing environment its not working, is there something im missing?

Compatibility with UE4
Hi, we have a project running in UE4.25 and were wondering if we could make this asset work- it’s a really nice layout! We were planning to disable Nanite and run a mesh optimizer to reduce vertices. Are there any other issues we might hit moving it into UE4?

Hello,
You know that’s not that simple to do that. If you take care of UE4, those assets, and better performance I would suggest buying our Ancient Temple and making your own layout based on this package.
We are preparing a bigger update for Ancient Temple where there will be new game-ready assets for roofs similar to this package :)

I think it would be awesome to have like a coliseum (gladiator arena) with the underground cell/escape system as well.
then make a Roman street pack with like houses type of environment.

Engine setup
Can you please share your Default Engine.ini file as well ? it helps a lot for us to see what you see, a lot of ENV dev’s add a link to the description where we can grab it!

Hmm, with each package we try not to change the engine configuration at all. Because we want people to see exactly what we have and what they can see in the trailer/walkthrough. If you run an empty new project with the correct version and add our package, it should look the same. If we use some small function, it is mentioned in the documentation.
The problem is only when you have somehow modified your project. But if so that you probably don’t want to override it with our settings :)
But of course, if it can help you, please email us at support@scansfactory.com with the engine version you’re using (Epic sometimes changes settings for different versions).
Maybe we’re missing something and we should add config to the documentation? Please let us know if so.

Difference between this pack and the game-ready one?
Both are looking amazing, but I am wondering what the difference is between the 2 packages, as a lot of meshes seem to overlap between the 2 packs.
Is the VP one of higher quality than the game ready one?
Is the VP pack simply a selection of scanned assets from the other pack?
